I noticed a big stack of triangular mailing tubes at work, and it inspired this series of paintings. For this one I changed the colors (obviously) and loosened it up a bit. A change of colors again, and smaller triangles. These are all acrylic on canvas. Canvas pads, specifically. I like canvas pads for working out ideas. They're pretty cheap and come in a variety of sizes. I'm not really sure what they're made of. They seem to be canvas that's impregnated with some kind of plastic. The canvas gives them 'tooth,' and the plastic makes them durable. I wrote to the manufacturer because I wondered how long I could expect them to last. I got a reply but it was pretty ambiguous. Hopefully they won't disintegrate anytime soon.
